Special training for people with speech and hearing impairment

By Bader Zahir al Kiyumi - MUSCAT — Oman LNG in co-ordination with the Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) and the Arabian Training Centre (ATC) will conduct a special training programme for people with speech and hearing impairment. The programme, targeting 30 people, will impart hearing impaired training in the use of desktop publishing software at the OPAL. The programme will enable candidates to take up jobs, said Doah Al Qamhawi, Programme Supervisor at the Arabian Training Centre. The programme includes management courses, designing courses, language courses and IT courses, Doah added. “OPAL will work with the Ministry of Manpower (MOHP) to ensure that the candidates secure lucrative employment upon the completion of their nine-month training programme,” remarked Samyah al Obaidanyah, Assistant of Human Resource Manager, OPAL.
