Cityland Group, the company behind the Dubai Miracle Garden and Dubai Butterfly Garden, has announced plans for a new nature-inspired shopping mall.
Cityland Mall, scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2018 with a connected access to Global Village and costing AED1.1 billion, will have 1.13 million sq ft of leasable space with a colossal green reserve at the mall’s core.
Cityland Mall expects an annual footfall of up to 12 million visitors, a statement said, adding that plans are also being drawn up to replicate the mall concept in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Fahimuddin Sharfuddin, CEO, Cityland Group, said: “We are delighted to reveal the details of Cityland Mall – a property that will carve a niche in the country’s bustling leisure and shopping sector.

"What sets Cityland Mall apart is an open-air botanical garden, that forms the nucleus – both literally in mall architecture and symbolically as this will be the hallmark attraction.”
The expansive, 200,000 sq ft open-air garden, labelled Central Park, will include a mini version of the Miracle Garden, a mini water park, 300-year old ancient tree garden, Japanese garden, 360-degree rooftop garden, and a cluster of restaurants and al fresco cafés.
A 3,000-seat amphitheatre and a miniature amphitheatre for children will also provide a platform for performing arts throughout the year, the statement added.
Abdel Naser Rahhal, vice chairman, Cityland Group, said: “This property furthers our legacy in championing green spaces that deliver meaningful entertainment and a refreshing retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life,” adding that access to the park will be free of charge.

Cityland Mall will consist of six thematic pavilions including more than 350 retail stores, with the largest share of retail space being fashion outlets.
The mall will serve up more than 75 dining options as well as a cinema with 14-16 screens, including a dedicated children’s screen.
Shaded parking will be provided for over 6,000 cars.
